Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and on behalf of Tower MSA Partners (TMSA), the VP, Medicare Compliance provides counsel to Tower personnel and clients, plays an integral role in TMSA’s quality assurance processes, supervises TMSA’s marketing, training and public relations initiatives, and represents TMSA at industry conferences through speaking engagements. The VP, Medicare Compliance is expected to maintain a high level of knowledge regarding MSP compliance, as both Tower staff and clients will rely on them to ensure they meet the requirements set forth by the Medicare Secondary Payer Act.
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop company guidelines and practices for addressing Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance requirements and directly address legal concerns associated with MSP
- Review Medicare Set Asides escalated due to legal issues/ concerns that require legal review, language and oversight.
- Provide consultation to TMSA clients on MSP compliance matters.
- Handle conditional payment escalations as requested, including appeals to ALJ.
- Work with TMSA Operations and Quality Assurance departments to establish best practices, workflows and quality assurance criteria to ensure proper MSP compliance processes and the highest level of customer service and product quality.
- Manage TMSA’s marketing and PR program along with TMSA’s PR consultant.
- Prepare and deliver educational presentations and consult with TMSA clients on MSP issues.
- Prepare industry news bulletins, news articles and all other content delivered through TMSA ‘s MSP Compliance Blog and associated social media posting.
- Present at industry conferences and other speaking engagements on MSP compliance
- Develop training curriculum, webinars, etc. to educate TMSA clients on MSP compliance
- Keep updated with respect to all MSP regulatory requirements and guidelines and report concerns, trends and changes in CMS review and recovery processes to TMSA executive
- Develop TMSA positions on MSP advocacy issues and maintain involvement with organizations that support these positions.
- Assist with RFP process and legal and compliance requirements/
Education/Certifications
Maintain active license to practice law.
Maintain Medicare Set-Aside Certified Consultant credential (MSCC)
